Tooth Whitening: The Leading Cosmetic Dentistry

Teeth don’t remain white throughout your lifetime. You start using your teeth for grinding, chewing, and chomping at the earliest stage of your life. Gradually, with time your teeth turn yellow which were once as white and lustrous as pearls. The color of your teeth turns yellow as the gloss of the white enamel fades away with time. In addition to this, the pigmentation from coffee, tea, wine, and many other drinks get stuck in the minute cracks of the teeth. As a result, your teeth appear yellow and sometimes with the brownish tint.

That’s the reason why the tooth whitening has gained the popularity among people as the most famous cosmetic dental procedure. Almost every cosmetic dentist offers the tooth whitening treatment in his clinic. Not only these clinics provide the tooth whitening service but also provide the cosmetic enhancements like veneers and bonding. These are really good enhancements as they improve the appearance of the teeth and as well as the function. They make the teeth strong and this way they sustain for a longer period.
They are plenty of options in dental cosmetic options. You cannot decide which is the best and right for you. It is very important to pay a visit to the dentist. He will evaluate and tell the right one for you. Before whitening he will make you get rid of the tooth decay, cavities, periodontal disease, and tooth or gum recession. The color of the teeth starts improving itself after getting these issues rectified. There are many times that the condition of the teeth of the patient is so bad that even after these steps the teeth stills remains yellow. In that case, the dentist makes the supplementary improvements by using whiteners or prosthetics that are well tested and recommended.

The good whitening products use the chemicals called peroxides. These chemicals are released into the bubbles of oxygen to remove the pigments and fragments. The difference in products is the concentration amount of the peroxide, the amount of time they take to get the job done and the cost. There are many whitening products in the market.

The market is flourishing with whitening toothpastes. Departmental stores, supermarkets, pharmacies are full with a wide variety of tooth whitening pastes. Some of the brands have a high concentration of peroxide and some of them just 1 or 2 percent. Even a small percent for about 1 or 2 is enough for removing the stains from the surface of the teeth. It gives a clean look to the teeth but they failed to give teeth the white shade. They are good and usually more effective after you have already had a whitening treatment.

Another option is OTC products. The best and most preferable among over-the-counter whitening products are the strips. The appearance of the strip is thin and its looks like a cellophane tape. This tape sticks directly to the teeth. Make sure that these tapes do not come in contact with lips and gums. This might cause irritation. This is the reason why these products come with very low concentration of peroxide due to which the results are comparatively slow.

The most preferable is the In-Office whitening. This is because the results are outstanding after this short treatment that is done in the dentist office.
